Annual Club Mystery Tour

For this year's Mystery Tour we will go somewhere and end up at some place wearing something, doing guess what.... In past years, we have gone to the mountains, the wineries, the ocean , north, east, south and west before. We are still thinking what exactly to share other than the date and will have the exact amount per couple soon. It usually runs about $300 maybe more but not much more and includes a night's lodging, a dinner, and a breakfast or brunch.

Our Mystery Tours are a lot of fun and bring chairs, coolers, snacks, books, warm and cold clothing , basically anything to make yourself comfortable in case you have to camp or be in a hotel. We like to bring our classic cars, if you have one, and some drive their daily drivers. We caravan and make arrangements for potty/gas stops along the way. The theme is to "Enjoy the Journey" not just the destination. We try to come up with scenic and interesting routes. We have a traditional "running board lunch" where everyone brings their own food and drinks, tablecloths etc, and the committee provides the location. Then we also have a "traditional Margarita Party" where the Margaritas are provided and snacks are brought by everyone to share. Then dinner and ???????. The next day we usually have a breakfast or brunch planned somewhere and then off to our individual lives and homes.

It is always fun to guess where and how many miles the journey will be. There are prizes awarded and everyone generally has a great time. We have had no people casualties on any of these, but a few minor ones with the "classic" cars. Everyone is asked to please check the engine, car and a full tank of gas at take off. It is not a bad idea to bring "spare things". Also check out yourself and your passenger(s) to make sure their gas is full and bladders empty. It is great if everyone sticks close and keeps an eye on the leader while making sure the car behind you is still in sight. We bring walkie-talkies to make the journey fun as well as practical, since we can give directions to our team-mates to make sure all stay in formation and arrive in tact!
